I know I know - not the kind of treatments you are likely to be offered by your local GP.
This month we hosted a fabulous week of rainbow live foods, juice fasting and herbal cleansing ~ to move stagnation and encourage fluidity. Releasing toxins from the bowel ~ from the past ~ helping to better engage with the present. With the addition of slow cooked bone broths and soups ~ we were able to gently cleanse and nourish the body ~ taking the opportunity of the seasonal shift from winter to spring ~ to shift stored toxicity gained during the depths of winter. This time of year offers up energy for us to maximise detoxification.
We supplemented with healing clays, charcoal and zeolite waters to cleanse ~ fresh aloe juice from our farm to encourage hydration ~ as well as enemas and dry skin brushing to shift toxicity in the colon and encourage the movement of the lymph. Tools that can be easily learnt and incorporated in people’s lives when they return home.
One of the perks of living in a depression (that once was a sea bed) is the close proximity to ancient water, minerals and salt. The areas in the oasis of vast expansive salt flats with bright colored turquoise pools are imbued with mineral rich healing qualities similar to the Dead Sea. It is in this unique environment that we prepare freshly dug salt to entirely cover our guests. The power of salt in dispelling negative energy is exceptional and leaves people feeling fresh ~ reborn ~ both physically and symbolically ~ into a more clear and grounded body. We then soak in nearby hot springs to remineralise and relax ourselves ~ the magnesium preparing us for the necessary rest and relaxation that is so important in healing.
We took our last guest through the Bedouin treatment of hijama (otherwise known as blood letting). It might sound archaic ~ but its power to ease pain and inflammation through the removal of toxic blood is just as relevant in this millennia as it was for the Pharaohs. A simple yet phenomenally potent natural therapy that can do wonders for the modern human. People here fully understand that power ~ and it’s a very common treatment for many conditions of pain and inflammation that manifest in the body.
Combine this with daily acupuncture ~ massage and moving meditation through the trees ~ and the results are amazing.
We feel super privileged to hold space for individuals in our womb like earth homes to do this kind of work. Serene and comfortable natural spaces are needed from which to explore the subtle whisperings of the soul and our connection to ourselves and the wonders around us.
The indigenous Amazigh community in Siwa has only a few words for time in their language ~ yesterday, today, tomorrow and NOW! There are few places in the world where people are so present in the moment ~ their culture woven into the incredible oasis they inhabit ~ bonded by hundreds of thousands of days and nights ~ full moons ~ celestial conjunctions and seasonal shifts. If you surrender to it and allow the opportunities to manifest ~ then wonderful serendipitous things start to happen. The secret is allowing and accepting… trusting.
In Siwa, the veils between the worlds are thin. Many experience lucid dreaming and a profound sense of coherence ~ connectivity and clarity ~ just by being in this remote desert environment and having space for presence.
We feel very distant from the distractions of the modern world ~ of fast paced demands ~ technology and routines ~ which allows us to connect more deeply to our soul purpose and consciously engage in transformative healing journeys.
